Flash fiction is an under-appreciated form of prose. It is a place where every sentence needs to speak volumes, a place where constraint leads to freedom. Here at Suddenly, and Without Warning it means this: a self-contained story of 600 or less words. It can be any genre. Get creative. Have fun.

Stories are curated and published by myself, Dan Cardillo. This website was originally the brainchild of Ryan Young, but he has since passed on the reins to me. I’ve always loved the project, and am more than happy to become its steward.

We’re also on Twitter and the book of the faces.
